The highlight: the hike along the Costa Vicentina, along the fishermen’s path, past our house. When you leave the back garden door, you can walk straight ahead (keeping slightly to the right). You are on the fishermen’s path and will reach the cliff in about 6 minutes. You will have a spectacular view of the waves and cliffs. Near the cliffs there are two benches to rest on and you may spot some storks in the air. Next is a place with old ruins and there you will find a very large and beautiful beach, which is a bit difficult to access. But it is worth it. 

A little further on you reach the village of Monte Clerigo – our favorite beach with some nice houses and restaurants – try the coconut cake at A Rede. It is delicious! This tour takes about 1.5 hours and is easy to do, even for beginners.

If you turn left at the top of the cliffs at the beginning, you can do a quite challenging hike to Arrifana that takes around 2-2.5 hours: you will be rewarded with breathtaking views, bays and cliffs. It is definitely worth the effort.
